In these chapters, Rob admits that he is afraid of death and dying, and especially afraid of the people he loves dying. What role does this fear of death play in his infidelity? Is this a legitimate reason or just another excuse he has made up? What do you think of his response to Linda’s father’s death?
Rob admits he is afraid of dying because once you die, you will never come back. I have had these thoughts also because i always wonder what the world would be like once i die, or will i be remembered and ect. Rob he actually shows he cares about something else about sleeping with women and music. I think this shows another part of Robs identity because now as readers we know there are other things he actually does care about. dying to me, is the scariest thing i have ever thought of because you don't know when its gonna happen. how its gonna happen, and why it happens until the actually dreadful, horrible day comes. When is finds out about Linda's dad, it makes him think about death and definitely scares him because he doesn't want to die and to top it all off he doesn't have anyone to talk to about how he feels. And on a final note as readers we find out that he really doesn't want to come attached to people in the begging of the novel and now we can conclude that the reason for that is that one day those people will die so there is no reason to become so close to them because you don't know when they will be gone. I really don't agree with that because you don't want to look back on the situation and be like i wish i would of been closer to him or her and fond more out about them but now its to late because they are gone!- but hey, thats just me.
